How it works
From first note to first concert in one school year
No experience needed. Here's exactly what happens after you register.
Pick a class
Choose an instrument and a weekly time slot. Not sure which? Tell us your child's age and we'll recommend the perfect fit.
Get set up
We email you an exact shopping list — which instrument to buy or rent, where to get it locally, and the method book your child's class uses.
Watch them grow
Weekly 55-minute group lessons, Music Bucks for practicing, and real concerts in December and May. Progress you can see and hear.
Why group lessons
Kids learn faster — and stick with it — when music is social
Motivation is built in
Playing alongside friends turns practice into something kids want to do. Group energy beats willpower every time.
Performance confidence from day one
Every class is a small ensemble, so performing feels natural — not terrifying — by concert time.
Life skills beyond music
Teamwork, listening, patience, leadership. Our mission is building the whole musician — and the whole kid.
A fraction of private-lesson cost
$85/month for weekly 55-minute lessons — roughly a third of what private instruction costs in Volusia County.
Music Bucks & the POMA Store
Practice pays — literally 💵
Students earn Music Bucks for practicing, participating, and progressing — then spend them on fun prizes at the POMA Store. It turns daily practice into a game kids actually want to win.
Try it right now
Which instrument will your child choose?
Hand them your phone. Let them play a real scale, strum real chords, and lay down a beat — right here on the page.
Tap the keys — this is the first scale your child will learn.
Programs
Four paths, one goal: a confident young musician
Small groups, leveled by experience, taught with the same method books used by top school music programs.
Performance opportunities
Every student gets their moment on stage
Performance is where confidence is born. POMA students film a Virtual Christmas Concert each December and take the stage for live end-of-year concerts every May — one night each for guitar, piano, and winds & percussion. Grandparents welcome.
Virtual Christmas Concert
Filmed in class, shared with every family
End-of-Year Concerts
Three live nights at Port Orange Christian Church
In-class ensembles
Every lesson ends with kids playing together
What families say
Parents notice the difference
My daughter went from never touching a piano to playing for the whole family at the holidays. She practices without being asked — I still can't quite believe it.
The small-group format was the magic for us. My son feeds off the other kids' energy, and the teachers somehow make every single one of them feel like the star.
We started with zero experience and a very wiggly five-year-old. Now she sings her practice songs in the car and counts down the days until class.

Questions parents ask
You probably have questions. Good — we have answers.
My child has never played an instrument. Is that okay?
Absolutely — most of our students start with zero experience. Level 1 classes are built for complete beginners, and our small groups mean your child gets personal attention while learning alongside kids at the same stage.
Will my child actually enjoy group lessons?
Kids thrive in our groups. Learning next to friends turns practice into play — students cheer each other on, perform together, and earn Music Bucks for the POMA Store. Group energy is the reason our students keep coming back year after year.
Do you provide instruments?
Students bring their own instruments. Once you register, we email a complete guide covering exactly which instrument to buy (or rent), where to get it locally, and which method books your child's class uses. Wind instrument rentals are available through Music Shack (407-678-1765).
How much do lessons cost?
Tuition is $85/month plus a $25 yearly registration fee. Pay by semester or by year and save: Fall (Sept–Dec) is $320, Spring (Jan–May) is $400, or the full school year is $720. Payment is by Zelle or cash.
What if we miss a class?
With a set weekly group schedule, we can't offer makeup classes, refunds, or prorated tuition for missed lessons — but our teachers make sure returning students catch up quickly, and the online resources help students stay on track at home.
Ready to see your child light up?
Registration takes about two minutes. We'll follow up with everything you need before the first lesson.
